two drops in a day
what a beautiful friday. woke up to my favorite girl group and one of my favorite artists dropping new mini and debut albums respectively.
aespa released their drama mini album today, its their fourth mini album to date. the whole concept of the album and title track is just so good. its exactly in line with what i expect from them. all the songs have this sort of im better than you, techno, grimes-core theme. im a guy but im all for these types of songs, even if they might be meant for a different group of listeners, music is music, it doesnt segregate. not to mention the members are so much prettier than usual this time. for a long time i was used to referring to winter and karina as the visuals of the group, but the kbs performance and the drama m/v had ningning and giselle looking so pretty. the racoon tail esque highlights in giselles hair fit so well? and ningning being given bangs for the kbs performance? overall, im obsessed, i love aespa. the cd is on the way today, so im hoping i pull a winter photocard, she my favorite, but I'll be happy with whoever.
pink also dropped her debut album. ive been pumping her unreleased tracks and snippets on soundcloud since 2021, so its nice to see her go back to her roots and improve upon some of them. im so glad she actually released any song, let alone a whole album. its just a cute album, all the songs are catchy. i cant even describe the music itself, it just feels like youre waking up in some early morning festival, the hill youve set your tent up on has been engulfed in a thick, cold haze, and in the haze you hear her songs. id love to see a longer song from her in the future, her talent in producing and composition is unmatched. i loved mosquito the most, probably because its the snippet i listened to the most out of all of them. the line "i just had a dream i was dead, and i only cared cause i was taken from you" beautiful, heaven to my ears,
its a very good day for me. just what i needed to motivate me to get me out of the bed.
